How to Use APT e Fertilizer

Follow the recommended dosing schedule for your aquarium:

• Three times per week: Dose 5 ml per 100 litres of aquarium water.
• Daily dosing alternative: Dose 2 ml per 100 litres of aquarium water daily.

Adjust fertilizer dosing according to your aquarium’s plant mass, growth rate, lighting intensity, CO₂ availability, and water-change routine. Always follow the instructions on the product label.

Understanding the Estimative Index (EI) Method

The Estimative Index (EI) method aims to provide aquatic plants with sufficient nutrients to minimize nutrient limitations and support consistent growth. It is commonly used in planted aquariums with suitable lighting and CO₂ supplementation.

Regular water changes are an important part of this approach. A weekly water change of approximately 50% is commonly used to help reset nutrient levels and reduce the accumulation of excess substances.

For best results, maintain a balance between fertilizer dosing, lighting, CO₂ availability, and aquarium maintenance.

Approximate Weekly Nutrient Targets

The following nutrient targets are provided as general reference values for the Estimative Index method, rather than guaranteed concentrations produced by every dosing schedule.

• Nitrate (NO₃): 20–30 ppm per week
• Phosphate (PO₄): 5–7 ppm per week
• Potassium (K): 20–30 ppm per week
• Iron and Trace Elements: Approximately 0.5–1 ppm, depending on the specific nutrient and dosing approach

Actual nutrient concentrations will depend on the fertilizer formulation, aquarium volume, dosing schedule, plant uptake, and water changes. Refer to the manufacturer’s product information for formulation-specific details.
