Echinodorus Ozelot Red

Echinodorus Ozelot Red is an attractive and relatively easy-to-maintain aquarium plant, making it an excellent choice for both beginner and experienced aquascapers. It is well known for its large reddish-brown leaves decorated with distinctive dark spots, creating a beautiful focal point in planted aquariums.

This stunning sword plant works particularly well as a centre or background plant, where its broad leaves can add colour, texture, and depth to the aquascape. Although it can tolerate low-light conditions, providing strong aquarium lighting and CO₂ supplementation can help encourage healthier growth and maintain its intense red coloration.

Echinodorus Ozelot Red can grow considerably large, so regular pruning and maintenance may be necessary to keep it at the desired size and prevent it from overcrowding other aquarium plants. With suitable conditions, it can become an impressive centrepiece in a planted tank.

Propagation

Propagation occurs when new plantlets develop along a stem from a mature plant. These young plants can eventually be separated and replanted once they have developed sufficiently.
