Lobelia cardinalis ‘Mini’ – Dwarf Aquarium Plant

Lobelia cardinalis ‘Mini’ is a compact and attractive aquatic plant that is ideal for creating detailed aquascapes in freshwater aquariums. Also known as Lobelia cardinalis ‘Nana’ or the small form, this dwarf cultivar is distinguished by its rounded, coin-shaped leaves and smaller growth habit compared with the standard Lobelia cardinalis.

Perfect for the foreground and midground, Lobelia cardinalis ‘Mini’ is an excellent choice for nano aquariums, nature aquariums, and planted tanks. Its compact size and distinctive foliage make it suitable for creating neat plant arrangements and adding texture to your aquascape.

This versatile plant can also be grown emersed outdoors during warmer weather. Under suitable conditions, mature emersed plants may produce beautiful red flowers, adding extra ornamental value.

Growing Requirements

Lobelia cardinalis ‘Mini’ is relatively easy to grow and does not require complicated care. However, providing sufficient lighting, a consistent supply of nutrients, and additional CO₂ will help promote healthier growth, better leaf development, and more compact growth.

For the best results, maintain stable water conditions and provide both micronutrients and macronutrients to support healthy plant development.
