Rotala macrandra Green Mini
Rotala macrandra Green Mini is a beautiful and relatively compact variety of Rotala macrandra, popular among aquascapers for its unique leaf shape and ability to change appearance depending on lighting conditions. It is closely associated with the plant commonly known as Rotala macrandra “Wavy” in Germany.
One of the most attractive features of Rotala macrandra Green Mini is its changing appearance. Under moderate aquarium lighting, it develops elongated, light-green leaves with reddish stems. The leaf edges have a distinctive slightly serrated appearance, while the leaf tips are generally rounded.
When grown under stronger lighting, the leaves can develop attractive reddish tones. New shoots may also produce leaves ranging from oval to almost round, often with smoother edges. These changes can make the plant look significantly different depending on the aquarium conditions.
The emersed form produces round green leaves growing on reddish stems, similar to the typical terrestrial form of Rotala macrandra.
