Requirements

Tonina fluviatilis is considered a delicate soft-water aquarium plant and performs best when its preferred conditions are maintained. It thrives in soft, slightly acidic water, strong aquarium lighting, and a consistent supply of CO₂ around 20–30 mg/L.

For the best growth, use a quality aquasoil or acidic aquarium substrate together with a complete and balanced fertilization routine. Micronutrients are especially important for maintaining healthy growth and vibrant foliage.
