Sagittaria teres is an easy-to-grow, grass-like aquatic plant that is well suited for the middle and background of planted aquariums. It spreads through underground runners and can gradually form attractive, dense groups, making it a great choice for creating a natural-looking aquascape.

One of the interesting characteristics of Sagittaria is its ability to change its growth form depending on aquarium conditions. With strong lighting and limited nutrient availability, it may remain relatively short and form a low-growing lawn. When the plant becomes denser and receives a good supply of macronutrients, it can produce longer, strap-shaped leaves reaching up to around 30 cm (12 inches).
